Sir,

I have the honour to transmit a copy of a

minute dated the 26th. of January and a letter dated the 15th.

February from Mr. Janes Macdonald, the Government Marine Surveyor

on the subject of his salary, and those of his two Assistants.

Mr. Claud Severn informs me that the Inspector

of Marine Surveys in Singapore received the following emoluments

last year:-

Salary.

That the Government Marine Surveyor, Singapore, who corresponds
